IND vs LEIC 4 Day Warm Up Match Day 1 Updates: Indian bowlers were all over Leicestershire with the new ball. Mohammed Shami was sensational with the new ball and represented the wickets of Samuel Evans and Cheteshwar Pujara. Mohammed Siraj was also spotless with his line and lengths on the other side and was rewarded with the wickets of Louis Kimber and Joey Evison, leaving Leicestershire faltering at 71-4. However, Rishabh Pant looked good and played some sharp shots before lunch. He added 30 tracks with Rishi Patel.
It was a fiery start from the Indian pacers, especially Mohammed Shami who has taken two wickets so far. He was expected a lot from Cheteshwhar Pujara, who had come on after a sensational season in County, but was hit hard by Mohammed Shami for a duck.
Hello and welcome to day 2 of the warm up match between India and Leicestershire. India had a disappointing opening day as all of their big shots failed to stay long enough at the wicket. However, KS Bharat took the opportunity with both hands and hit a brilliant 50. He is undefeated on 70 and will be looking to hit the triple digit mark. However, he’s run out of partners and while Shami can hang around for a while, innings aren’t expected to last long.
Attention will also focus on Cheteshwar Pujara, who is returning to the Indian squad, and Rishabh Pant as India approaches the series by deciding the 5th test against England in Birmingham. Stay Tuned for all updates in real time.
The rain ends the day prematurely. India will be disappointed with today’s performance. Lots of hitters started but no one failed to get a big one. Virat Kohli looked good in his short stay, but couldn’t make any significant contributions. KS Bharat stood still on one side and got himself a brilliant 50. Some contributions from Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami brought India to a respectable total.
Virat Kohli looked so good during his time at the wicket and played crisp shots. However, once again the same story repeated itself and Kohli was fired after starting well. India is in trouble now and the burden now lies with KS Bharat and Shardul Thakur to bring them to a decent total.
India started quickly but none of the batters managed to stay long at the wicket. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma played some sharp shots that started in quick succession. Wickets continued to fall with Hanuma Vihari, Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja not making much contribution. Virat Kohli looked solid on the other side, but he’s running out of partners. Can Srikar Bharat help him out? We will wait and see. At the moment, the match has been suspended due to rain.
India had a great start but lost both early players who failed to convert good starts into a great score. Virat Kohli is not in the crease area and will be eager to get a big score here and get rid of the poor form. A fit Virat Kohli is a must for the India team.
Hello and welcome to the live updates of the warm up match between India and Leicestershire. The match is organized so that Indian players can get used to the conditions before facing England in the 5th Test in Birmingham. India are currently leading the 2-1 series and a win or draw in Birmingham will give them their first league win in England since 2007.
India has a lot of problems to work with during this game. They would desperately need Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to get back in between racing. Both players are going through an extremely lean patch. Cheteshwar Pujara comes into play after an incredible season in Sussex County where he has scored 4 hundred. He would like to continue their momentum.
This will also be an opportunity for Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer to support vacant position # 5. If both players manage to do well, they can both join the squad at number 5 and 6. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna will play for the Leicestershire team. Stay tuned as we bring all the updates from the match.
